Fowler Welch, one of the largest and most dynamic operators in the chilled and frozen sector, has agreed to extend its partnership with Bandvulc to 2020.
The agreement sees BVPlus+, the management arm of the Bandvulc Group of Companies, supply nominated new and Bandvulc retread products together with total 24/7 tyre management for its fleet of tractors and trailers across the UK.
For Bandvulc, Phil West (Group Commercial Director) comments; “We’re delighted to have negotiated and extended our agreement with Fowler Welch well into the future. This term arrangement allows us to develop and test new and innovative ideas with a key client and to demonstrate the results in an operational arena and not just, as is usual, a test base”.
Nick Hay, Managing Director of Fowler Welch says; “It’s always refreshing to hear of suppliers looking to the future, testing innovative ideas and actually carrying out their commitments beyond what would be standard. Bandvulc’s customer care is exceptional and full of new ideas delivered in a concise and understandable fashion. As an operator it’s important that we continuously test the accepted norm and with Bandvulc we have a partner who is more than willing to do so”.
The agreement sees continuous investment in new technologies which are worthwhile and bring advantages to all parties. Phil West adds; “Technology is welcome but we have to be sure we don’t get carried away with promises or perceived advantages. Those of us involved in logistics need to work in a practical, delivery based environment and therefore have to ensure the smallest advantages are both deliverable and can be integrated into the current operations”.
“Fowler Welch continues to grow and expand its operation across the UK and it is important we adapt our services to accommodate such changes. The management of tyres relies upon a quality delivery of service provision, like a vehicle service agent who has to control and deliver a standard which excels – the BVPlus+ network has been first class throughout”, adds Nick.
The partnership sees BVPlus+ managing tyre requirements for over 400 tractor units and more than 720 trailers – 24/7/365. This is controlled in-house by BVPlus+’s own staff.
